Where is the "forgotten password" function? I don't' need it today, but I will at some point. The login window doesn't have a link for that.

That is a good question and yes, that self-service will have to be added. I never forget my password (between lastpass and my self-proclaimed middle-aged impeccable memory), so it isn't an issue for me.

Will come in time

If you forget your pass before that, use the "SEND FEEDBACK TO STAFF" (on bottom of each page) to request a new pass.

Pekka,

I am really liking the new site! Great job.

When reviewing posts, information such as, the Post Count, Create Date/Time log, Edit Date/Time Log [LIke] this post, dashed line, then Signature seem to dominate the real estate on the page AND makes it difficult to visually separate from the actual post vs all the information I just mentioned.

A lot of people will post no more than 1 line of "reply" so it would be ideal if we can minimize the information that follows ( the Post Count, Create Date/Time log, Edit Date/Time Log, [LIke] this post, dashed line, then Signature) or isolate visually better, it would help especially when reading all the various posts and scanning for information.

Can the [LIke] This post be moved to the same line as the Date/Time log and all the way to the right? Or Can it be moved to the other right side buttons of MQ, Reply, Quote?
Can the actual post information (the users reply) be in darker color so it stands out? (not quite bold, but needs to stand out visually to separate from the rest of the information (the Post Count,Create Date/Time log, Edit Date/Time Log, [LIke] this post, dashed line, then Signature)

Can Gear list be restricted to 1 or 2 lines only? Some people have many lines and this just becomes unnecessary repeated information on the page, especially when the person is often in the thread conversation.

Just spent some time adding gear...I don't see any tripods yet, and, I don't see Think Tank Digital Holsters.

Added the post count next to avatar.
Note that if post has very little content that info is hidden. I can make it so that count is always shown, later.

What a machine, when do you ever get any rest?????

Nice change, several of us had that concern in one of the earlier beta rounds, I think that is a good change. :)

Pekka--

Sorry for the brain freeze in my previous posts regarding use of relative paths in your login form. All I can say is that sometimes you see what you want to see...and I can only chalk it up to a momentary lapse of reason. After reading my drivel you probably ignored the posts anyways...so no harm done ;)

PS the Safari login problem was due to an extension...either AdBlock or Javascript Blocker. Disabling these enabled me to login no problems.

Out of curiosity, do you plan to change the address of the image server from an IP to a domain? I use squidguard and block use of direct IP addresses so that my kids don't try to surf porn. I disabled this measure so I can see all the images on this site.

Lastly, a quick suggestion:
It would be great to have the submit button closer to the text input field, perhaps the bottom right corner. Why is it at the bottom of the left column?

thx--
PP

Perhaps moving them under the editor window might be cleaner, but I am not sure. I do know that on my tablet, the buttons, where they are, cause me to move around on the browser to get to those buttons after I am done with my text. I understand that the intent is most likely to make sure the preview is seen first, then you can post the reply, or cancel, under that preview. This probably looks silly, but I tried to photoshop what I mean.

I'll see about it later. I have now a list of things to do

Why should it have to be right?

Pekka, nice addition of the post count under avatar. I was worried it would be missed in testing. Even though it doesn't necessarily tell you the knowledge level of the user, it gives an idea of how active someone is.

You had that info before, it required clicking on the More/Report/Share link though.

That is a good one... I'd would then post into a GoPro thread...
