Mark forums read

If you came to POTN daily, it showed you the activity since the day before.
If you took a vacation, it showed you the activity from multiple days you had to catch up on.
and so on, and so on...

This one single feature was a huge organizational tool - the most important tool - that allowed you to easily keep track of things.
The fact it has apparently been left off makes organizational tasks and trying to figure out what's new a mess.

At the top of each thread, there is a "Follow this thread" button. Clicking that automatically gives you updates to new posts within that thread. This is going to be your best friend. Also, when you are in a new thread, when you post to that thread, it should prompt you asking if you would like to follow the thread. If you click yes, you will get notifications within that thread each time you log in or scroll to the top of the page. If you are gone for a week, when you return and log in, it will say something like "125 new posts in 5 threads" where you can click each followed thread and browse what you missed or need to catch up on...

What is great about the new design is that when you subscribe to the thread and come back to check on it AMASS will put right at the first comments after your last check in. This way you can see what has been added vs in the old forum it would take you to the end and you had to click back to find where you last left off.

Exactly! But exactly OPPOSITE of what I want. I do NOT want to follow all threads.

I want to see which threads are new since my last log on. I scan the thread subject titles and decide THEN if I want to follow it. If it is not of interest, I do not follow it.

Having all new thread (activity) bold and older not bold was the most useful tool on POTN there was.

Again, my personal opinion but removing the ability to determine which threads are new since last logon was the hugest design flaw that could have been made.

Ummm, wrong. On the old there was a little icon you could click that would take you immediately to the newest post within that thread.
