Nice, we like going to plum island. Have not seen any snowy owls there yet. Springtime, did see the bald eagles though...

I took the pictures yesterday on the beach side of Plum Island within the Parker River Wildlife Area. I started from parking lot 7 and walked the beach toward lot 5. Along the way I found this snowy. I also found Snowies at Hampton, and Salisbury State beaches. So far there are not the numbers that I saw last year but the number seems to be increasing.

While taking her picture I thought of her as Maggie Bird of the Beach, seemed as though she liked to flirt.

Just beautiful Jack. Looks like another big year for these guys. Now if it would just warm up another 15 degrees... ;-)a Must have been nippy on the beach !

You going to the Photo Society meeting on the 13th ? I got the following email (in part) a couple weeks ago. You might consider participating....

**Special Owl Slide Show!: This is a call for snowy owl photos! I would like to put together a simple slide show featuring your images of snowy owls. Theses can be images taken this year or last. I will fold them into a simple slide show loop, set to music, and will present them during the December meeting. The slide loop may also be shown on a tv monitor in our visitor center. Anyone is invited to submit up to two jpg images via email attachment. The submission deadline is Friday, December 5th. Send your owl images to me here: matt_poole@fws.gov. Your images must be properly sized and labelled, per the instructions we use for the monthly Show & Share slide shows (see link above). ALSO, the images must not include a watermark (or other identifying text). Rather, all photographers will be credited at the end of the slide show."

It looks like another Snowy winter in northeastern North America.

Nice set! Seems like we are going to have another great year. I got to spend a few hours photographing the snowy at Hampton a few weeks ago, nobody else around but the owl and I. I love Plum Island but I rarely have weekdays off and weekends there are obnoxious. Too many people, crowds just chasing the snowys around, etc.
