Thanks - yes, I've been to Circle B Bar Preserve, and it is good. Never heard of La Chia trail, and nothing comes up in Google.

STA5 looks like a real interesting place. I will miss the tour because I will be in Titusville on Jan 17 (the only chance for the tour on this trip), but I'll be in the Delray Beach area later and might go there on my own then.

eBird really is your best tool for looking for great birding spots in whatever area you choose.

On the main eBird page select the 'Expore Data' tab at the top.
On this next page, select the 'Explore Hotspots Beta' link.
This will open to a map of the world which you can then zoom in on with your scroll wheel to wherever you like in Florida.

There are hundreds of hotspots in south Florida to choose from. Yellow to Red pins are the richest sites. The map is based on the most recent Google Earth satellite images so it is possible to scroll right in to investigate the location. If you place your cursor on the hotspot pin, the name and number of species appears. Clicking the hotspot will open a window with information about the number of species, number of checklists and links to Bar Charts (ie. best time to visit for each species), High Counts and Directions (which takes you to a separate window and a detailed Google Map). You can mine info about the site even more deeply by selecting the 'View Details' tab. The next window is full of info on recent sightings at the site.

Combine this use of eBird with the site info available on the Great Florida Birding Trail website and you'll be busy for months to come.

Enjoy.
