I just want to say that the more I get used to this format, the more I love it. I actually really hope Pekka decides to sell the AMASS platform to other major forums so that the other places I go can be this good.

Hope he doesn't, for one reason. Once the source code is out there it can be exploited.

It really isn't difficult whatsoever. You just haven't given it enough time to see how to do everything and what new features there are to offer. If you're packing up after day 1, then you must not have much invested here anyway.

I think with over 14,000 posts I've invested a fair amount of time over the years, each may have their opinion on the changes I was just expressing mine.

Excellent! Glad that you are enjoying it but, I think that it is a safe bet that the software will NOT be sold.

Pekka is tirelessly working on mods and tweaks daily to make the user experience more enjoyable for all. This is version 1.0 and with the full load of users now on AMASS all feedback is being addressed for review. I hope you continue to enjoy the POTN experience.

I dont think it works that way. Pretty sure this is compiled code, and I dont think pekka would release source code like that. If he does sell it, it would be subscription based like vbulletin, but that's a tall order to go up against the big boys of forums. There are also very good free forums as well, I just cant see the business of selling forum software for a living. Just does not seem very profitable considering stuff like joomla and .net nuke are free.

It does work that way, in my past I was one of those people who liked to 'break' software just to do it. A lot easier if you have the source right in front of me. It's not a compiled code, it could be obfuscated but that's easily undone. I don't have to see it to know that it's PHP based.

If you try to make everyone happy you're just going to p*** everyone off. A lot of hard work went into this and I appreciate it. The more visual elements that can be adjusted by the individual the better.... at least until they make a bunch of changes they end up not liking and have ask you to reset it.

Find a consensus or just make hard, fast decisions but don't try to make EVERYONE happy.

good to know. PHP will be a language that I'll avoid

I'll stick with M$

PHP is very powerful, you just have to make sure you cover SQL injection and other things. It is not something to be avoided.

Well I can't quite put my finger on the changes (less white background perhaps? less black text perhaps?) but whatever has changed has made things a whole lot better from how it was at release on Monday. If I used it on anything but my iPad on Monday it was giving me a sore head.

You know, I think Pekka could say "I tweaked something" without really changing anything, and people would hurrah... almost like giving someone a placebo pill, and see what the reaction is. I have not noticed a background change, yet...
