500mm f/4L IS

I'd trade it for the new version II if I could.

The 400 5.6 is the best BIF lens out there. I have the 500 F4 IS, and it is a dream, but it isn't a BIF lens for any serious length of time and slows reaction times a lot.

I'm HOPING the 400 Do ii will be the BIF answer for me, faster than the 400 5.6, much lighter than the 500mm---but will it have the IQ?

100-400 is my current go to lens but I would love to get the new Sigma 150-600 Sport lens when it is released.

It depends on the situation. I like the sharpness of my 500 f/4 IS but there are times when its fixed focal length can be an issue with BIFs when they get too close.

I've had some success with my Tamron 150-600 thought the keeper rate is a little lower. I like its versatility and weight. I can carry it around all day on my shoulder with a Black Rapid strap.

I think the new Canon 100-400 is going to be a real winner.

I use both the Canon 500 f/4 IS and the Tamron 150-600 in different situations and like both.

I think I'm lensed out at the moment. ;-)a

I love my 500 f/4L version 1. Definitely my preferred lens.

I am looking forward to getting the new 100-400 to use as it's companion. Perfect two body set up for wildlife IMO.

100-400 L is my current lens. I am planning on purchasing the 100-400 L Mark II on the reality side. The dream side is 600 f/4 or 500 f/4.

You are a wise man if you are listening to the lady. Maybe you can talk her into a more expensive lens in the future?
