I couldn't agree more Levina! I like FYEO too! So far I like everything about the new POTN, except when I went to edit a post, and it highlighted everything...so I left it alone!

the squeaky wheel always gets the oil...

maybe we need to be more vocal?

I'll be vocal too...FYEO is small stuff and certainly says what it is.

We are early days with the new POTN and some settling in time is needed. I know I am still feeling my way around.

Fixing what is truly broken is the important thing and working on changes should be on the back burner.

There were some very constructive comments in the meta data thread that seems much more important to the operation of your vision on how the gallery and gear linking should work.

The more I explore the more I like, but after 9 years on the vB site AMASS takes some getting use to.

Someone mentioned the "playful" feel of AMASS and I agree. Little things make me chuckle and I'd hate to lose that. I feel learning AMASS is getting to know Pekka better.

Thanks again for all your work on this project and your vision of what a photography related discussion site should be.

I absolutely agree mate. I have said that the dust should settle first, and the issues that actually need fixing be sorted out first - which is what Pekka is doing.

Smaller issues can be fixed at a later date if people are still not happy in a couple of weeks time or so...

Pekka just wanted to say thank you for all of your work! It is truly amazing. I also agree with Levina. Some things need to be adjusted but others could remain in the spirit of AMASS. It is what makes it unique. Interesting enough i do have a suggestion for the way MQ is working at the moment:

Currently you click and select all MQ's.

Then you click on Quote.

Then you click on Multiquotes to insert.

Instead of those additional clicks can we update this to how it was before? Meaning when you select your MQ's you can click reply or quote in the last MQ you selected and they all appear in your response already? I understand the feature of picking and choosing but the old way really streamlined this process. Leave the quote tools as an option but build back in the old way of quickly deploying them.

I guess I prefer the New style Quoting as it allows me to more easily arrange multiple quotes to my liking. I click on the next member from the editor, add my response, click the next member, add response. This keeps the work space clear and I don't have to look around for tags to insert my responses into.

On a computer its much easier but this would help a lot on mobile. :)

I do too, Chet. But maybe we can have both:

- clicking the QUOTE button in the comment box inserts them all
- clicking reply and then going to the QUOTE option in the toolbox gives us what there is now, minus the INSERT ALL as that will have been taken care of then.

I would also like to add my thanks for all of the hard work you have put in on this. POTN is my most visited site by far and I am excited to see the way that it is going, I love the customizability that you are building into the site. Keep up the good work.

PS: I also vote for keeping it FYEO it makes sense and is a bit funny

Good stuff, Cary. Maybe add somewhere that you can move the QUOTE toolbox (as all the boxes) so it stays open?

It highlighted everything? That's odd and shouldn't happen. Does it happen every time you edit a post?

This is the way it works currently:

Click on MQ on every post you want to multi quote.

Then click post at the bottom of the page to create a new post or hit reply to a post.

Then click quote on the left hand tool bar.

Then you will see an option that says "Multiquotes: Insert All" You could click on insert all or you can click the quotes below you have selected. You can also hover over the quotes user name to see an excerpt.

Hope that helps.

Ahhhh...I see ;-)a

Pekka.. I think Levina has has stated it very well. Don't let the vocal negative voices influence you too quickly.
Things seem to be calming down.. Members are getting back to posting in their favorite threads. People
are starting to realize what an improvement AMASS actually is and they are adapting. Don't rush into
anything!

Get some rest. Take a walk. Play some music

FYEO is in the spirit of AMASS.. don't go backwards ..

Thank You for creating such a wonderful space !!

Pekka, are you following Harm's BAT thread in the Lounge? Several of the beta testers have expressed their concern there that you're bending over backward to make changes just because a few vocal people dislike something or other about AMASS. It now seems to me that you're reversing decisions that were made and discussed thoughtfully in a group setting over many months, on the basis of current complaints from people who didn't see the reasoning behind those decisions.

It makes no sense for a link called User CP to go to a page called FYEO. If you make this change, new users, and perhaps old users, will come along and say the link is mislabeled. To prevent confusion, a link and the corresponding page title should match. The title "FYEO" does a service by emphasizing how that page differs from a member's home page, which anyone can see. A lively discussion also exists about the script font, with strong feelings on both sides.

I fully support keeping "FYEO" and not reverting back to the vBulletin style "User CP"

The point is "For Your Eyes Only" is too long for a link name. If I made the link called "FYEO" it would be ideal to me, but for those accustomed to other forums it does not mean anything. I could add a hover title "Your Settings, PM and personal data" but would that be enough?
