Nice shots from the USS Midway
I was on board the Midway when it was in the Philippines back in the 70s visiting a friend :-)
I was with the air wing on the USS Ranger at the time - lots changed from then to now :lol:

I used two flashes (one blue gel and one red gel) behind a Perspex sheet, each at 1/128th power. The 'power' of the flash is controlled by the flash duration. To keep the motion blur to a minimum the flashes need to be as fast as possible, the shutter speed can be way slower.

If you look for Worcester Lad in the macro forum, his shots show what this sort of shot should look like.

that is certainly better than I was able to muster the last time I did water drops. Never did get around to making a dropping device though. Just hand drops.
