The new format is crap.

All the reorganization of groups could have been done with the old software.

The font sucks on the main page as no one uses that type of font for any type of web page. It's just not meant to be read in huge quantities
The board space itself is too artsy and pretty much ugly. The old space is standard format for a reason.

It is stupid changes like this that make me want to never go back to a site that I have enjoyed for years. That alone should make the webmaster wonder WTF have I done.

Maybe next time try CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. You may find it well received since Pekka has been busting his ass to please people. He really does listen to what people are saying.

Unfortunately, he could. At least he limited his profanity to one abbreviation.

What is Standard Format? Educate me. I really truly don't see AMASS as that far of a jump from the look and arrangement of vBulletin. Just a cleaner more refined space with better features.

I wonder how some of the people who are being so extraordinarily blunt with their criticism would feel if people commented in the same way on their photos??

(Some days I wonder what keeps Pekka from tripping over the power cord on the server as it's falling out the window in his penthouse apartment on the 47th floor)

That is totally false. Nothing could have been done with it.

The font sucks on the main page as no one uses that type of font for any type of web page. It's just not meant to be read in huge quantities

It is used in TITLES ONLY, and NEVER IN CAPS. What "read in huge quantities" are you talking about?

The board space itself is too artsy and pretty much ugly. The old space is standard format for a reason.

Let's see:

the old format NEW POSTS page

HOSTED PHOTO
please log in to view hosted photos in full size.

Please compare that to https://photography-on-the.net/forum/newposts.php and tell me the main differences.

the old format THREAD page

HOSTED PHOTO
please log in to view hosted photos in full size.

Please compare that to https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1357456 (or any other thread page) and tell me what the main differences are, why one sucks and one does not.

I really would love to hear some facts.

It is stupid changes like this that make me want to never go back to a site that I have enjoyed for years. That alone should make the webmaster wonder WTF have I done.

WHAT stupid changes?????

I have added lots of needed features that you do not have to use at all if you do not want to, and kept thread and forum index pages familiar, as those were about the only things you had a week ago.

You can arrange and filter forums as you like, if you talk about this being non-Canon any more.

Every time I turn around, there's something more I have to search for "how to".

- replying; its changed majorly!
- Time stamp is info overload AND, well, what if displaying TIME on all old posts is a major problem for someone (who's been posting during work hours and the boss's kid is a photographer)?
- I'm yet to find anything that makes it worth it. "Looks fresh" is a bit gimmicky. Change always has a cost. Just my opinion - I guess it'll settle in. It does get the job done - with some re-training. Can we say Windows 8?

I find myself reading all of the gripe threads and ignoring the photography content pages lately. I guess it's my inner geek coming out.
