Thousands of Buddhist temples (and a single Hindu temple) dot the landscape around Bagan, Burma.

Nice shots everyone. I love the A7r. Here are a couple with the Canon 10-22. I depleted my photography funds for now by purchasing the body only and I am saving my pennies for the Sony 16-35 f4. I also have a few old Minolta and Vivitar lenes in Minolta mount and the Canon 70-200 f4 I can use but nothing as wide as I like.

So I rented a A7R to use during my trip to Maui about a 3 weeks ago.
As nice as it is to use, I did miss at times having autofocus. -?

This one is with the 17-40L

Nice shots! Agree on the AF, as nice as the focus peaking is there are times when AF is very valuable. That's ultimately why I still have a Canon camera and an A7R. I don't think I'll ever be able to let AF go completely, and mirrorless AF isn't quite up to snuff yet.

Same here. I find it hard to manually focus using focus peaking at wide apertures without using the magnify button which is sometimes too slow so ended up adding back a canon body. I was missing too many shots of my son

so a friend is in japan right now and went to a sony store. They've got the a7ii and he was able to play with it. Looks like the ghost flare issue has been fixed? He posted a few samples here: http://newschoolofphotography.com/showthread.php?t=41994 (external link)
I'm REALLY hoping this is true! I started my switch from fuji to sony with the a7 but the ghost flare issues was too much to deal with considering I shoot architecture... So I switched to an a7s/a7r pair. Love the a7s for family and it'll be amazing for weddings. Love the a7r for scapes/arch. But it's a bloody expensive kit! I'm really hoping I can go back to just a single a7ii as my all in one FF body. I don't need more MP than ~20 something, my 5Diii was always fine (and fuji @ 16 was even enough). It is a hard choice though because the pair of 36mp when needed and 51000 ISO when needed is quite nice. Hopefully the AF on the a7ii has caught up to the a7s in low light.

I'm keeping an eye on this, too - I think that it has the potential to be a killer platform for alt glass users, so I'm hopeful. What I've seen so far, and it's admittedly scarce, is that the problem isn't gone entirely (a Sony-published pic with an FE lens showed some sensor reflections) but it seems to be better. I'm not planning on doing anything until spring (at the earliest) anyway, so I'll be keeping an eye on reviews and user samples to see how it's affected by things like focal length and how close the rear lens element is to the sensor (native lenses vs rangefinder vs SLR designs).

Bill is my name - I'm the most wanted man on my island, except I'm not on my island, of course. More's the pity.
