I've always wanted to Canon Industry Disgrace, but it's always been hard to find. Not to mention I sold my Canon yesterday. I guess I could wear it on the D750. :D

That's just got to be done!

+1 for black rapid. I have the sport, which has been phenomenal for active shooting days. Matter of fact I have an extra one I'd be willing to part ways with.

I really love my Carry Speed strap, but I think they were forced out of business by BR or something, I think you can only get them in Europe now. Mounts to the camera with an integrated universal tripod mount (acra or arca style) which is really handy. No fiddling, just slide it on the tripod.

40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things

I loved my UpStrap, regret selling it every day. I now use Peak Designs Slide, I like their quick release system. The Slide is OK, but just a bit short for a sling carry like Black Rapid (yet another great strap).

Anyone have pictures of these straps?

My village called. I was told that they missed me.

Have a look at the Black Rapid straps. They distribute the weight on the opposite shoulder very well and allow the camera to hang by your side and be lifted quickly to your eye. I use one with a gripped 7D MK II and a Tamron 150-600mm and can carry this rig for hours without fatigue.

Ron, I've been carrying the same combo by the tripod foot and it's getting old!

Can you tell me which model you use? Also, can you use a (locked) quick release plate instead of (or in combo with) the supplied threaded piece that you screw into the tripod foot? It would be nice to be able to change it to a tripod fairly quickly, but I'm wondering if that's A) Possible or B) too risky!

I just got a Peak Design Slide strap (https://peakdesign.com/store/slide (external link)) and I love it. I've been using the leash as well as a capture clip depending on the circumstances in the past, but the slide is much nicer without a backpack.

Don't know what model of tripod you have, but black rapid does sell a replacement tripod screw to replace the standard one that I think will work with a number of quick release plates.

This is another great option. I wanted to go with the new Peak Design strap myself but I didn't have the patience so I went with the Luma Cinch. The Peak Design strap works like the Cinch, except with the two quick releases you can quickly move one strap end from the camera to the lens foot for a super telephoto. Hmmmm......I may still end up picking one up.

When I got my 6D is was significantly heavier to carry around my neck all day.
I am not pro photographer, but I enjoy travel and urban street photography.
I researched and wanted a more comfortable strap to replace my stock one.
I decided on the Optech Super Classic. It has gel padding and a not slip side.
That was the best accessory I bought aside from the EF-S focusing screen.
While the larger larger straps and complex harnesses. This fits in my bag well.
Good luck with your choice.

Lots of options out there I wasn't aware of, very helpful thread!
I like to carry some extra gear in a backpack, so as much as I like the 2 point system, I can see that the sliding style of the black rapid set up might work better in that scenario.

The Black Rapid FR T1 is ALMOST what I had in mind (I switched from Manfrotto to Arca Swiss tho). I was actually hoping for the reverse, attaching the quick release plate (with a knob or locking lever) to the sling, allowing me to unlock the camera (attached at the tripod foot) for immediate use on a tripod. I guess in hindsight it's not much of a difference to unthread the stock Black Rapid screw attachment versus unscrewing the knob from the Arca Swiss clamp.

I'll do a bit more research into the weight capabilities and pull the trigger soon.

Rick

I have the RS-5 Cargo which I think has been discontinued. Looking at their site, I think the 'Sport' would be the closest equivalent.

If your quick release plate has a D-ring on the bottom then the 'hook' on the strap (what Black Rapid calls the ConnectR lock) should be able to fasten on to it rather than using the Black Rapid threaded 'Fastenr'.

FWIW: I searched for a strap for a while with BR straps being outside my budget but feeling that Op/tech looked uncomfortable and a little poor quality. Finally I pulled the trigger and ordered it last night. Got it this afternoon (wow, shipping) and couldn't be happier. The Utility sling sits nicely on my shoulder, the continuous loop system makes me feel very safe, and the hitches are swell. I got the reporter strap combo with it and the customisability of the system really has me sold. I was actually at the local B&M today and tried on some BR / Think Tank and other straps before I got home to my new Op/tech, and honestly, I'm glad I went with the cheap option.

I'm not sure what tripod mount you have, but mine (manfrotto) has a little loop underneath it that I can clip the black rapid into. So I put the black rapid supplied loop on my 70-200 or a 300 when I rent one, and can easily switch for whatever I need to carry at the moment. I have the black rapid sport and love it for sporting events and carrying big lenses.

I've been using the Artisan & Artist Easy Slider strap for my cameras. They make for SLR too. http://www.artisan-n-artist.com/products_details.php?id=225 (external link)

That artisan and artist slider strap looks pretty cool for the camera body though. I'll have to look into that. Thanks for sharing...

If you're talking about the loop on an RC2 release plate - those aren't meant to bear any load. They just press-fit into a couple of small holes in the retaining screw and the wire loop's fairly malleable. I'd get another plan for that if I were you.
