Pekka, I am loving the gallery feature and the way you see the latest additions to a section like macro down the side.

What would lovely (but if implemented I can't see how to do it) is some kind of gallery slide show that shows each image in the same sort of format as show "original size format" for the relevant category (lens type, camera type, posted forum category etc) with forward back navigation buttons.

This is of course a nice to have request when the launch issues settle.

I'd like to thank Pekka for all the work he has done.. It takes a bit to get used to, but that is ok. Humans, in general fight change-?
The one thing I miss compared to the old POTN, even though minor, is a "new posts" button. In the old POTN you could go and click "new posts" and see all the latest posts regardless of forum. I liked that to to see what was going on, without being specific. Maybe it is there and I just haven't found it yet.
Again, thanks Pekka, impressive work.

New and Followed at the top will bring up a screen (currently always defaulted to New, it won't remember your last setting, for now), and it will show you all new posts across all non-filtered forums. Change the filter at the top to Own and Followed, and the list will be of your own started threads and followed threads only.

You can use the Real Time Activity Tracker as well, and only show new threads, or new threads and new replies.

You can set the RTAT to show only one category, like THREADS which shows only new threads. Or IMAGES which shows only images that are being posted, etc. Just click THREADS or LIKES etc. You can toggle them off and on.

Thanks for that! Just check Threads and Replies and it's the same as "Posts" :) I also like that you can change to a list format.

Okay, so you don't agree with Pekka's choice. But why this tone of voice? Why call him "our fearless leader"? By all means, have an opinion, but show some respect for Pekka and for what he has done. And do you really think he has no right to hang on to some of his choices? Even if you don't happen to agree with them? Haven't you learned yet that in life you take a bit and you give a bit? Pekka is giving a lot here, making changes as we speak, even if he doesn't like the changes himself. Is it too much to ask that you give a bit too and at least show some respect?

Have an opinion but please, drop the attitude.

First off I would remind you that this is a COMMERCIAL enterprise. As such the interests and efforts of the owners are not necessarily done from the goodness of their little hearts. Do you also bow and scrape at the name Zuckerberg, or Musk, or Bezos?

As for 'Fearless Leader' that is a term I use fro anyone in charge of anything. You are obviously to young to remember 'Rocky & Bullwinkle' w. Boris and Natasha, and the Fearless Leader.

There is only one owner here: Pekka Saarinen. And this is not a commercial enterprise; the only money involved, is the amount Pekka puts down out of his own pockets to keep POTN going. Members can donate to help. AMASS! is also not meant to be sold. To compare Pekka with somebody like Zuckerberg is utterly ridiculous and only shows that you really don't know Pekka and what he stands for.

I don't know. I never heard of those. But that could also be because I'm not an American?

Here's another small idea:

It would be great when adding an image to a post to also be able to pick from images in your gallery.

Please do a little research before making these sorts of statements.
The internet is filled with enthusiast forums that are totally dependant on the altruism of someone to create them, maintain them and pay for all the costs associated with hosting them.

Here are some other queries and requests that have been posted, sometimes several times. Many seem like small tweaks and several Pekka has already responded to and indicated he was looking into them (I don't know when this guy sleeps!).:

I noticed that the link in "SEE OUR SIGNATURE RULES for more information" doesn't work (also maybe SEE OUR should be See our :-) ?)

One suggestion.... The copy and paste thing where it adds a URL back to the thread is not useful at all and is frankly very annoying, to me is more of a bug but that is personal opinion. Copy and paste should not be interfered with!

    Example, go to this thread
    https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=17075232

Highlight and copy SNS-HDR, then paste it anywhere (google, etc). What you get is:
