Last nights full moon around 9:45 pm captivate me, and with my energy level nearly full took out my Canon 70D with the 70-200 L lens and capture Luna arcing across the sky. These taken 2 minutes apart on fixed tripod and stacked together in post processing
(I had right hip total replacement surgery 5 weeks ago and just now really feeling near normal)

Off Thread topic;
Thank you, my doctor told me that upon doing the actual surgery while he had both xrays and MRI still did not fully reveal that 60% of my cartilage was gone, so that explains why I was hurting so bad and truly this was needed! Stopped the pain meds 3 1/2 weeks post surgery, but honestly took 5-6 days for them to flush out of my system where I truly had clear and higher level cognitive thinking, truly I could not even sit in front of a computer and simply type or what not.
Watching TV, surfing the web, no problem. Bit higher thought process stuff no.

So, got the gear out and felt just good to do simple imaging and PP.

back on topic.

I really like what others are doing here for the wide angle moon shots with very interesting foreground.

On some of the facebook forums I've seen people using registax on 100's of moon shots thru DSLR with mind blowing detail and colors, yet I've not seen those posted in this forum thread - or I've missed them...

Amazing picture:-)

That section on the lower right on the moon with the crater always amazes me it looks like a a channel the width of the crater, almost like the effect you get when a ball ore similar object is dragged along a surface.

P.

Some stuff.

Funny thing is, it was the first time I tried with my then new E-M1. I set it up on the balcony and controlled it from instde with an iPad. I was so encouraged that I tried again an hour later.... crap! Next night.... crap! Several times since...all crap. We so seldom get reasonibly good air here on the outskirts of Vienna, that anything celestial is nearly impossible. But that one night I was lucky. Usually I have this to put up with:

or even this:
