Just picked up a used 7D, my 30D will be a backup now. I was looking at a new retail 7D w/28-135mm package for $1,099 with Canon rebates. Then I thought, the 7D came out in 2009 and it was just replaced with the Mark II, I would be better off saving $400/$500 and buying a used 7D. I have used this camera in that past and loved it, the video side of it will be new to me.

$1,100? 7Ds are going used for $650 to $800. Adding a $200 lens does not add up to $1,100. Go used. Put the savings toward a decent lens.

The $1,100 7D is on B&H, they were throwing in a bag, cf card, dvd, and extra battery. I found an excellent condition 7D on Ebay for $605 shipped, so I went with that.
