To be honest, I didn't realise how much of my time it took up. I'm taking photos along the way though.

First attempt at HDR last week:

Looking at that I didn't know it was HDR. To me that's a good result. To many overuse HDR and try to have every detail and to be honest those people are doing it wrong.

I like what you have done.

That is impressive.
The first thig I looked at was the transitions between light and dark. They look pretty good.

Yip, if you want to shoot video wide open in the sun and retain a smooth frame rate you have to use an ND filter.
If you want the hobbit effect you can always shoot at 1/100th, but moving beyond that makes things look a little to sharp and crisp for people.
So 1/50th or 1/60th is the norm.

Dependon how you have live view set up, the camera may automatically adjust the live view feed for exposure, since it's this feed that the video is taken from, it needs to be showing true exposure.
Not sure what mode that is on the 6D, but it does trip people up on the 5D.

Ah I suspected as much, will have to get a ND and have a bit more of a play around...

This seems a strange place, but yet a place fondly remembered in my cold dark past memories.

Maybe it is just strange, and needs no further investigation past that?

Have you Calibrated your Monkey lately?

Now more than ever we need to be a community, working together and for each other, as photographers, as lovers of photography and as members of POTN.

Does anyone know how to link to "first new post" in this new forum?
I have a shortcut which used to take me to the first unread post in a thread. It doesn't work any more.

I've just been hittin' the biggest page number and scrolling down. It's a feature I miss also. I have also noticed in the threads I subscribe to posting has slowed considerably, Christmas maybe or everyone exploring?

if your missing something it would pay to go to the forum talk area and start a post about it. There is also a list of changes that he's going to be making as well.
