We've done this before, organised by Mike, so I was wondering if anyone was interested is doing it again?

I could be up for that...in fact I saw the email this morning and thought it could help me to get my mojo back! That's why I came back! :D

Is any of the old crew still around? Haven't seen Chris, Lee, Mike etc on here for a while...

I'm still around but not really been taking photos lately, cycling took up a big part of my year last year. I see most of the others around on Facebook but I worry about Chris...he dropped off this site, facebook and twitter...I hope he's ok... :\

Not sure about this new forum layout but I expect I'll get used to it............... I hope

Can't stand the new layout!

It'll take a while but you'll get used to it, there are lots of cool features once you get used to the layout. I was on the beta testing crew so I guess I've had more time with it. It's cool :)

Nice one Dom, now, are there any restrictions on the photos? As in, when they were shot? As I have very few recent shots but a couple that are a year or two old that I could offer for submission...

There's no restrictions as far as I can see all they want to know is camera used, preparation to make the picture and why you think it is a great photo.

I noticed that Chris has gone off the grid also. I never thought I'd see the day that the TW blog would be shut down but I guess things have changed.

Dom, I'll have a look through the archives for a water shot. Pretty sure I don't have a decent one though - which means I probably should go out and take one!

Yeah - managed to get out for a couple of hours today with the 1DX (only been a month since I got it), pretty uninspiring but enjoyed the walk nonetheless. Managed a few that were okay - handheld 300 2.8 with the 2x extender

Thank you kindly sire, looking forward to getting out over the holiday especially now I can see better.

Note to one and all - especially the ones who have a phobia about eyes etc like myself - if / when you get something in your eye, sort it out and get it looked at straight away DON'T wait like I did for 3 days before eventually going to A&E, turns out I had a small shard of metal swarf in my eye which (because I had been rubbing it for 3 days) had scratched the hell out of my cornea and I was lucky to not have done serious long term damage. It has now been two weeks and I can drive again and almost all of the blurriness has subsided.

You can just make out one of the scratches going from what should be the white area across into the coloured area (the yellow gunk is partly the dye they put in to see under blue light)

I have learnt my lesson and consider myself very lucky.

.DAVID.

PS: apologies to the squeamish for the photo - I hope it kinda helps make the point though!!
