Would have been nice if he'd given me 20 more feet before bolting and def. testing the limits of the Tam 150-600. Regardless I'm happy with my first hawk- ![]() ![]() ![]() flickr

Digital Paradise thanks too! Ancientone, no MFA yet but will soon. I use FoCal but am limited to 300mm with my version; need to upgrade to FoCal pro to get beyond 300mm in that program. I'm currently waiting on a 400mm DO and when it gets here that will motivate me to upgrade FoCal. Thanks MM, the Ant was taken with the 100 2.8L Macro lens with a 12mm extension tube AND the 1.4III extender, I needed a modified 12mm extension tube to be able to mount the 1.4 to the 100mm lens, it works surprisingly well and still auto focuses Canon 7D II, 650D | Canon EF-S 10-22, EF-S 17-55/2.8, EF-S 18-135 STM, 100-400L IS II, 70-200L IS II, 50/1.4, 100/2.8 IS Macro | Canon MT-24EX, Speedlite 600EX-RT

MedicineMan4040 The Magic Johnson of Cameras ![]() More info | Dec 14, 2014 04:54 | #3101 Ancientone, I think the 100-400 will prove much more usefull/versatile but I've got two friends who shoot the first gen 100-400 and everytime I watch them they're fully zoomed out.....which is my feeble way of justifying the prime. So I eagerly await your 100-400 II results flickr

2n10 Cream of the Crop More info | I use my 100-400 at 400 most of the time. But it is nice to be able to shoot at shorter focal lengths without changing the lens or having to "settle" for a portrait. The portrait works just great though.
