I saw the nice shots from Kauai posted by kd_reno, and thought I would add a few from Honolulu. All of these (and several other species) were taken in a single small park a block from Waikiki. These are all introduced species. I doubt that there are many native birds in the cities any more.

Nice collection! I loved those red-crested cardinals when we were in Hawaii.

Thank you all. I like the Cardinal shot as an example of what you can do with high ISO on a 7D. A lot of people gripe about it, but it does work. :-)

Beautiful set and great job getting high ISO shots with the 7d.

I dont shoot mine above 800 most of the time because I crop quite a bit.

But your shots turned out very well.

Thanks for the compliment Patrick. I really like your Waxbills. Also the Java Sparrow - I saw some of them on Kauai but didn't get close.

Thank you. I really like your shots of the native species. I wish I could have gone out to the countryside while I was there. But it's a good excuse to go back!

Thanks. There is noise in that shot, but under "normal" viewing conditions you just can't tell.
