Some shots with the 500f/4 and 1/4x III TC on the 7D II. I haven't checked AFMA yet with this combo, doesn't look like I need it :)

Great shots, well done.
I have just ordered a 7d2, should be here later this week to go with my 400mm f5.6

In the first shot, the bird is most parallel to the back of the camera. So that helps with DOF.

I just shot from the car. Camera/lens was held up on the edge of the car door window.

No flash used, just natural 8am light

Background is the grass just below the perches, since I was angled down slightly. The distance between the camera and perch was less than the distance between the perch and the grass.
