That shot of the stairs is amazing! Does it do anything for it to straighten it so that the lines in the wall are horizontal?

Alright, after some waffling the wife wants to keep the M a bit longer. We have the 22mm, what other lenses are worth buying at this point. I also have the Canon adapter, but putting my 50L, or 35L on it is a little counterproductive for her.

Bite the bullet and get the 18-55.

Heya,

I would stick with the 22. Everything else just makes it a larger thing to carry and hold. If you're only keeping it for a while, I would not invest into the M mount lenses beyond the 22. While the 50L and 35L are very large lenses compared to the EOS-M, even an 18-55 is still a large lens for the M, as it's just not small. Only a pancake will remain small. Obviously it's up to your preferences for size, if you bought the M for size, P&S size, then the 22 does that.

Since everything is larger, no matter wise, I'd just use the adapter and use whatever glass you want so that you're not investing into the M lenses, unless you think it's a good primary system for your needs.

Very best,

The 18-55 is a good lens for everyday photography, but the 11-22 is a great wide angle lens if that is the sort of lens she will use. Neither are as large as an adapter with any EF or EF-S lens on. The 40 pancake might be a little shorter, but it will be fatter.

I don't have the EF-M 55-200, and am still undecided between that and the EF-S 55-250. Despite the EF-M 55-200 being the more compact lens, I think I am leaning towards the EF-S 55-250 as being worth the extra size because of the extra focal length and speed.

EOS M, EOS M3, EF-M 11-22mm, EF-M 22mm, EF-M 18-55mm, EF-S 55-250, C-mount 50mm F1.8, EVF for M3

Depends on your budget... The 50 1.8 is a well regarded lens for little investment. I personally like my 50 1.4 on the M. Focus is lightning quick compared to the 22. Not to mention you have 1.4 if you need it and it does not vignette at all compared to the 22 :-) I did not like the 40 2.8 on the M. Focused slower than the 22.

The Tamron 18-200 is interesting...

Follow up question... What subjects does the wife like to shoot that the 22 isn't floating her boat?

Finally out of my funk as of late and it feels good.

Tested out the 55-250mm last night with the stars... not too shabby actually!
Definitely appreciate any feedback!

Photoshop could never stitch this together so I finally tried M$ ICE and it worked! Unfortunately that stripped all EXIF data. Anyone use ICE before and know how to keep that?
Definitely appreciate any feedback!
