I hope my photography is worthy of this section, the elk & game I photograph are as wild as they come. So as much as I like taking photo's in yellowstone, these are so much harder stalking and getting good quality photo's (keepers)with the hunting seasons they endure. And if it's hard to catch on from my post, I truly have a passion for these animals. So with that thanks for looking.

Very nice photo Stacy ! Love the colors and mood.
The angle of the elks body and set of the ears tell the story ! ;)
I can almost hear the sounds. Thanks!

Thank you James, glad you saw what I was reading in the photo. I love the demeanor of his body language, very solemn.

Awesome catch. The only thing I would have done differently would be to give a bit more "space" to the left in an attempt to improve the composition.

Very much enjoyed this photo. The colors are great. The low angle works well, and the subject is a great find. And yes, it is very hard to get up on a bull this nice out in the wilds. I have tried many times. Not an easy task, unless one is in Yellowstone or some other park. Well done.:-)

Yep I agree completely, In the field I find myself trying to remember all these equations. And on these critters sometimes I feel grateful just getting the shot off. Thanks all on the comments. I have my first standing offer from a magazine for this shot, I'm flattered but at the same time not sure if I want to part with it?

This is a beautiful image and completely delivered on the title; I was expecting to see a great Elk against a sunset when I read it :)

Making a deal with the magazine doesn't mean (shouldn't mean) turning over the image to them so it becomes their property. If you post details of the magazine's offer in the Business of Photography section, people who know more than I will evaluate it for you and explain the difference between sales and licensing.
