Thanks for the welcome, there is a ton of good info. in this thread. It is too bad I didn't see it until after I started shooting soccer.

The second shot is of the goalkeeper and to be PC he is a bit more Hispanic that African American, but maybe a second cousin twice-removed or something like that.

I do most of my shooting with a 70-200 so behind the end line (next to the goal) is my favorite shot but not always allowed. That lens is not long enough for good sideline shots. Here's a couple of recent shots:

It is the celebration images that get more attention it seems. I just wish I was able to sell this one to the media when I got it.

Clever match planning will give you an idea whose going to score first, but sometimes it's just pot luck where you are at the time.
