Thank you! Great tip about camera picture adjustment, i didn´t know this setting affects jpeg-previews as well.

About Tammy 17-50 non VC, i traded this lens for Canon 24-70L f/2.8 because of recent FF upgrade, but i have to say, this little tammy is really much better on crop camera across the frame with so much better CA control and corner sharpness. I think it´s optically superb lens if you don´t mind loud AF motor and plastic body.

I agree, the Tammy 17-50 f/2.8 non-VC is an extremely good lens for the money. I owned that lens for about 3 yrs and got a lot of good shots that were very sharp. It worked well with my 60d and 70d.

I replaced the Tammy when a friend of mine was selling his Canon 17-55 EF-S IS f/2.8 USM lens. When I compared the two side-by-side, the Canon clearly outperformed the Tammy, particularly in low light. The only negative to the Canon is it's a little bigger and heavier, and some copies, like the one I have, will exhibit zoom creep which is fixed by adding a Lens-Band. So, for the best budget lens, go for the Tammy, but if you want the best all around zoom lens, the Canon is the clear winner but at nearly twice the price.

I tried Canon 17-55 and didn´t found any bigger differences regarding IQ, but it has much quieter, faster and snappier AF and more rugged body, which is a big plus. I believe it has better AF performance in lowlight as well.

my another shot called Safety first :)

Struggling with a twisted knee, and not withstanding (see what I did there?...) that there are so few creatures around that are tiny, photo opportunities are few and far between but tonight I found a globby playing silly buggers, rolling on it's back on a leaf in the pond.

Fear not, it was soon back on it's feet and away again.

However, once I got this tiny springtail cropped on the PC, I realised there was a baby one in the vicinity!

Not the best pic, but I thought I would share it.

Hello, I have a problem with the raw files produced by my 70D.
I use an iMac dated late 2007 with Yosemite, iPhoto and Aperture; everything is updated to the very last version as well as other software such as Pixelmator, but after downloading the raw files, very often, some pictures appear completely black or with some black blocks, anyway I can't use them. Some other times using iPhoto or Aperture those files make my display unusable and I have to restart.

Has anyone had this kind of problem?

Thanks and Merry Xmas.
