Just got my Efs 10-18 for Christmas. Its seems to be working well except for a quirky issue. I'm using it with my 60D. I have the 60D Auto Power off feature set to 1 minute. With my other lenses, both Canon and non Canon, the camera goes to sleep in 60 seconds regardless of what is on the LCD at the time. With my 10-18 mounted, the auto power off only seems to work if I'm in the shooting functions screen. If I'm in the menus, or viewing an image, auto power off does not take effect. I'm wondering if that's a result of the fly by wire nature of the STM motor. Has any one else noticed this issue? I can do a camera reset but loathe to do so just yet since I have so many custom settings. If this is normal, I can work around it, but I want to make sure this is not a lens defect.
