Dude I'm not talking business. This is a photography discussion site not a business site. There's one business subforum here and this isn't it.

Once again you are missing the point. Many, if not a majority, access this site from something other than a tablet, and many of those are probably in business where a tablet might be considered the worst tool for the job. Your assessment of 'tablets are the only game in town' is several years off, if it ever happens at all.

I agree 100%

When I surf this forum on my phone I check out the text type topics I follow. Then I get on the computer with a real monitor to look at the topics I follow that are photo heavy. A tablet, no matter how nice its display is, will never match a wide gamut monitor for looking at photos. 8" or 9" will just never match 24" or 31" no matter how good the resolution and color matching is. The general pubic is satisfied with those small size displays, but don't think advanced amateur and pro photographers ever will be. In twenty years, instead of looking at 10 or 12 inch tablets, they will be demanding bigger, higher definition, and wider gamut monitors. No reason not to expect one day for our monitors to be over 30 or even 40 inches and for them to exceed what the resolution, dynamic range, and color that our cameras are capable of delivering.

I guess I don't even understand the point of either side of this debate.

AMASS is like 600% better to use on a tablet/phone than POTN was on V-bulletin. Pekka is continuing to fine tune the usefulness of this site on mobile platforms.

Based on that fact, I can't see what either side is going on about.

To all the people threatening to storm off to some other forum, you realize that's going to be a new experience, too, right? Nothing will be the old POTN.

I thought they had. The only argument i see ongoing is this one about tablets and laptops (which I fail to get the point). Apart from that everyone else has got used to the new setup and is enjoying it (myself included)

play nice ( i was told to ). everyone can voice their opinion, but unless Pekka suddenly says "we're going retro", things will stay on this tangent. many of those who were naysayers earlier have adapted and now like the place.

you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink it...

in time we will see whether those who are particularly vocal in the "no" category will stay or go.

OK, Chris you know that there are old geezers like me who don't know what OCC might be. I did a search and none of the possibilities seemed to fit the context -- Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Orange County Choppers, Options Clearing Corporation, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Online, Curriculum Centre, etc .

CDS's avatar is of Paul Teutul, Sr. of Orange County Choppers. They were notorious for their arguments and family fights.

Oh yeah, Duh!!!

I watched it occasionally until it became nothing but family squabbling interspersed with commercials and then repeating everything a dozen times. Same thing with all of the programs on the Discovery channel.

I thought that CDS really was Paul so I wasn't going to give him any trouble.
