Always a lovable comic relief, showing here her serious side.

Poor Chloe.
If you have not done so, ask your vet to write a prescription for renal diet cat food, such as k/d from Hills and Purina NF. While they may not cure the kidney issue, these food will help ease the stress and burden imposed on kidneys.

I hear that some of the folks in this thread like cats ;-)a This is Britt, one of my three cats, all of which graciously put up with being photographed whenever I acquire a new piece of photography gear (in this case, a C/Y Zeiss Planar 50/1.7) -

Bill is my name - I'm the most wanted man on my island, except I'm not on my island, of course. More's the pity.

Here's a quick snapshot I took of our kitten sitting on her usually spot in our office, on top of my Mac Mini. Her eyes are always fixed on the cursor.

I'm already on it for the past 3 months, mixing it in with her regular food.

That is neat that you can see the shadow of the screen on the cat and in its eyes.

I feel so sorry for Chloe and you. I know you are trying what you can, but if she is in intractable pain it is best to make the terrible but right decision to let her go. I have had to do this 2 times, and know it is hard.

I feel for you & Chloe, Jason. I've been there with one of mine in the past. The k/d diet helps, and at some point they may suggest subcutaneous fluids. I had to do that with my Murphy for a while. You'll know when it's time for Chloe. I wondered if I would know when the time was right. I didn't want him to suffer, but I didn't want to end things if he was still having some enjoyment of life.

That last morning, I knew it was time. I could see it in his eyes that he was ready. It was still hard, but I knew it was the right thing. I just thought I'd pass along my experience with one of my old sweeties.

I think you'll know when it's time. Just love on her and enjoy your time with her while you can. You won't regret it.

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.
