I went down to Gas Works for New Years and got several good shots. Here are a few of the better ones.

WOW! Fantastic shot! Can you please share how to capture fireworks display? Tried a lot of times but it seems I can't get it right. Thanks in advance.

Before the show started, I composed the shot. I put the program to Bulb. I shoot fireworks anywhere between f/8 and f/11. I also use ISO 100-400. I use a shutter release cable and when the fireworks begin going off, I start clicking away and holding the shutter down from anywhere between 1 and 5 seconds depending on how bright/how many fireworks are going off at once.

You can also use a black card (bigger than the lens glass) for fireworks. Hold the black card in front of the lens and then open the shutter. As soon as you see a good blast of fireworks, take the black card away for a second or two and then put the black card back in front of the lens (all while the shutter is open). You can then repeat this several times in a single exposure to capture multiple blasts in one shot.

Cheers!

PS there are lots of in depth tutorials/videos on google. I found a lot there.

Lovely shot. I was there too and have similar shots, but I don't think mine came out as good as yours. thumbs up!
I was at Alki beach and expecting there will be fireworks from the river (I'm not local). If I've known the fireworks only at Space Needle, I would've came to Gas Works or Space Needle itself.
