How to clean reflections from car?

Hello guys!
I was wondering how to remove all the reflections on the car in post-production? Can anyone show step by step or perhaps tutorial? I have seen some before-after photos, here is one (to let you see what I think)


Can anyone help me with that? Step by step, tutorials etc. Anything that could help me is very welcome!

Have you considered that the car would look very bland and blah without reflections that hightlight the folds and curves in the body panels?!

Companies pay thousands to get their cars shown with the curves and folds highlighted in advertising photography!

Yeah, I still want all the curves of the car on photo, but clean out reflections of surroundings (trees, buildings, other cars etc.)

It's not a simple answer per se. First best step is to use a polarizer on location which right from the start can remove many unwanted reflections, without any processing. Second, in Photoshop, you're essentially painting the car, and to avoid have flat surface, you have to paint a gradient. Its not at all easy to do and very few have mastered it. An edit like this can take days to edit properly. Third, the photographer might have used strobes on location which would light the car and thus get rid of reflections from surrounding areas as well. Tough to really tell if thats what happened in the original shot.

I am using polarizer on location, but sometimes that's just not enough (especially if car is near the trees, or in forest, or somewhere else with unequal light). Yes, strobes on location also helps with that problem. But sometimes you need to do quick shot, and you can't "play" with strobes for few minutes (on roads for example).
