Canon 5dMKII & MKIII, 20D, 50mm f1.8, 24-105mm f-4 ,100mm f 2.8 , 100-400mm l is, 600mm f4 l is, 580 Flash, 2x TC. Sigma 120 to 300 F2.8,1.4xtc, 28-80mm, Lowepro Rover, S&F ,Pro Treker, Comercial, Manfrotto mono & Tripodx2, pixel mago flash.

where was it taken? that often helps narrow it down.

it was taken on open heathland in mid Devon U.K.

It is looking most likely that this is a fieldfare!

It has the characteristics of a Thrush so I think you are right, but I'm no expert on UK birds. Hopefully someone from your area will chime in.
