First post in this thread of the new year! Sure, it took me 4 days, but I did it! I will turn 55 the end of this month. Add to that my spinal fusion, my torn meniscus and the idea that I cannot shovel my own snow, I'm feeling pretty low at the moment. It gets better, right?

Can't comment on the spinal fusion, been very lucky with my back. The knee issue I can tell you will pass, had surgery last year and went right back to normal after treatment. Cleared to start back into weight lifting agian, and I'm 56, soon to be 57.
My older brothers have had fusion surgery and both are active. They are 57 and 59.

Not being able to shovel your own snow is an issue? Really? Spent most of the morning clearing heavy snow and freezing rain, and having an excure to hire someone else would seem a good thing :-D Though I can understand the do it yourself attitute or I would have hired it out by now too.

Chin up! It gets better. Follow medical instructions and work on strenthening the back properly and life will return.

BTW my oldest brother went to Mexico and built a mission after his spinal fusion. I mean built, as in hands on, as well as the admin and ministration side of the mission. The other is retired armed forces and an active hunter and outdooorsman.

Have a good New Year!

Thanks Jazz!! I know it will pass. I really am the type of person who prefers to do my own work. Until I am back at it, it drives me insane to sit and think of all the things I could/should be doing, but I have friends who step up and help out. Once my knee is fixed, I know my back will feel better since one is working against the other.

Happy New Year back at you!

And that she is posting in this thread.......

Does this not make her an Old BAT?

(Couldn't leave it alone  )

Happy New Year Richard!

I believe in truth in advertising :-D

I should update that photo, Toblerone is getting much more grey than that now. She is still crazy.

Besides, I'm a techie. I just look at the facts and ask the questions.

Just hope the Title Fairy doesn't catch this one, the moniker could hold for a long time
