Here's a test shot I did with the 50 .95 Noctilux wide open. I thought it would be a lot harder to focus.

I've had this lens for just over a year. It's a bear to lug around but really is unique.

First shot - it was delivered as I was leaving for a business trip, so I grabbed it.

Not me. It is an amazing lens. I just shot with it for a few minutes at Tamarkin Camera.

I will have some shots up here in a couple of weeks. Mine was delivered to my place in the UK on Monday but I am not back there until 12th August. So far I have inspected it on Skype and it looks amazing. It is sat next to my new 246 as well so as you can imagine time is passing slowly now waiting get back!!

Congratulations and good luck with your new Nocti. It's a great lens but do yourself a favor and get the Leica handgrip for your M. The Nocti is big and heavy and if you're walking around with it without a grip it can become bother to carry. I just picked one up and can't believe I waited so long. Here's a couple of shots to hold you over until you get back to yours - they were both shot with an M240. You're going to love the Monochrom - the files from the camera are really amazing.

Thanks for the advice :)

I used to have a grip on my M9 and liked it but as you know the M is a little bit thicker which suits my hands. I also keep them in half cases usually hung around my neck on a nice leather strap so as yet I didn't feel the need for a grip, but, time will tell.

The main focus for getting extra toys to go with the nocti and MM was on ND (3 and 6 stop) and coloured filters (orange and red for the nocti and my 35s). 60mm size is not a popular size so everything was on back order.

The Nocti is big by Leica standards but still pretty small compared to a 1D with 24 - 70 2.8 which is what I used to carry most places back in the old days (and still in some of the new days!)

Only 15 days to go until I am back in the UK to play with everything new.

big_g - ND filter for the Nocti is a good get. With the MM, color filters really work well and I have them for a lot of my lenses. I actually want to get an infrared filter for my Tri-Elmar 16-18-21 for landscapes. Good luck with the new kit and looking forward to seeing some shots. You're right about the size, but I guess I was referring more to the weight - there is a lot of glass in this lens.

Finally started to get some shots I like from the Nocti. Getting the focus absolutely right is pretty tricky but using the EVF2 helps a lot. It doesn't seem to like really bright conditions either as the CA is terrible when wide open. Anyway, heres a shot from a fishing trip last weekend with some friends. The exif never seems to read correctly with this lens especially when you have filters as the camera guesses the aperture comparing its ambient reading with the light hitting the sensor. This one says f6.8. It was definitely 1.4 at most. I am pretty sure I was shooting wide open all the time but anyway I quite like this one :)
