I'm liking the Nikon. So far it has produced some very very good shots. Haven't attempted any macro yet.

And I'm missing the Canon forum, so I'll be back. Found a super deal on a Elph 520HS, should have it this week, so I might be ready for next weeks challenge!!!!

Okay guys, I haven't posted any entries cuz I can't figure out how to resize the photos. In the past I've used Photobucket, but have decided to discontinue the service and go with Flickr.

Seems photos posted on Flickr can't be resized. Suggestions please.

Thanks.

Tawcat, if you google "software to resize photos" you will find quite a few websites that
let you download free software.
Then upload the resized photo to Flickr.
If you need any help, send me a message!

Elfie, thanks, then I read where with Flickr doesn't allow pics to be posted to forums etc, it only allows posting of a link.

I'll figure it out.

You must be using the "new photo experience beta." I tried it, but quickly switched back. There isn't any way to share and re-size your photos for forums. I guess they still haven''t fixed that. The "old" layout still works fine for me.

Tawcat, you can download InfranView, it's free (http://download.cnet.com/IrfanView/ (external link)).

Quick and easy to resize photos and do other PP on your photos.

Thanks I'll give it a shot. StanJ, not sure what version I'm using, the newest I'm sure. I did figure out that once you publicly share your photos you can download the html code with no problems.

Look at one of your photos. If you don't see "Try our new photo experience beta" on the bottom left, then you're probably already using it.

Just a thought - might it be worth while, since AMASS supports it, to require, or at least suggest, that all entries from the next contest on be added to the respective members' galleries?

A few thoughts in return. I'd rather reserve my gallery for what I consider my best photos, and most of those are taken with the other camera; I don't use the smaller one much anymore. People sometimes remove their images after weeks or months, and they should be free to do so even if a photo was a contest entry. And some members don't even want galleries--at least, they haven't started them. So all these thoughts come down on the side of "Not." Sorry.

I may have the wrong grasp on this but photographs in a competition follow the rules of that particular competition. Whereas Gallery pictures follow our own personal perspectives of quality, quantity, theme and lots more besides. In a competition we may enter what we have or what fits the bill, take something specific to that competition, it/they may be a photograph we are proud of. But in our Gallery we put a picture in with a whole different set of reasons and needs, not the same values as we use for the competition entry. Please do not go down that road......
