Full Moon by Dean Chiang | Xyclopx
These are shots I took around Oakland, CA. I started collecting photo books and have a book by Eggleston on order. Briefly researching him I saw his emphasis of color, and perhaps far less so the actual subject matter (I guess depending on how you see it.) These pictures here represent a departure for me--I've always looked for the rarity of the situation/subject and overall significance, but here I was only looking for colors and overall aesthetics, with significance worked in if I could manage it.
I know these shots aren't for everyone. I tried to go for super saturation, but "tastefully" if that's possible. In some pictures, like the moon shot, the colors are pushed so much they lose fidelity, but that's how I saw the shot. Not sure if it works for you. But hopefully you enjoy them. If not, well, at least they're different right?, ha ha.
