The 70D is a really cool camera for video. The AF in that regard is really impressive especially in the tracking function. Image quality is ok but it is a bit soft in video.

For taking pictures well this is pretty ok but it lacks a really convenient function to react quickly : the center reset AF position...I mean, Canon, seriously? Oh come on ! This makes this camera a tortoise to use...
The touch screen is a gem to use but the focus speed in camera mode is so slow that you don't want to use liveview. For that, Nikon is really much quicker.

I think it's never meant to be used for high speed photography on live view, i would not recommend that. The touch screen is much more than a gem, i use it a lot.
All camera's have there pros and cons, but it's mostly the person behind it that makes the difference. On the camera/film part i agree on stills/landscape/urban ect it's
great, but on motorsport ect it's to slow. But than again if i see what technology goes into those big pro Camera's (Sony) i'm not surprised with the results.
