So I have attempted Newborns before and have hated every prior experience and the final results of my work. Its never fun feeling inadequate at something you love doing. So when a co-worker asked if I would take some snaps of their new baby, I was reluctant to say the least. I watched some youtube, read some articles, and decided to give it a go. The final result wasn't too bad in my opinion. I just have a major issue with trying to find the right angles and well lighting and everything when it comes to this genre. Any thoughts?

I like these! The second one is my fav. I like the tones of the first, too.

I think these turned out really good! I am certainly not an expert, but I think #1 might look better if the basket wasn't cut off. I really like #2. It looks like there is a weird out of focus section above the child's right ear. Did you add the blur in post?

hmm thanks for the catch, I had not noticed that. No blur was added in post, I was however hitting the healing brush a few times when i meant to hit paint brush so that might be what happened. Thanks again!

What was the lighting setup? The shadow looks a little harsh on the first but I do agree love the second :)

Thanks! All lighting was done using an open kitchen window and a reflector.

Aww! I really love the first one. For me, it works with the cut of basket, and very much the slightly turned position the baby have.

The second are very good to, I hope you are happy with these images :)
