So......just when I have gotten used to the new forum it gets yet another change, rearrange, update.....

Not sure I see any advantage to it other than making things hard to find. Is this going to be a monthly thing just to keep everyone guessing? I thought the other format was just fine especially having used it for a while. But hey.......who the hell am I?

Must admit that I preferred the previous version.
The previous version had a new and refreshing look to it. This version just looks like any other bog standard forum.

But what a great idea for a game: Guess the Format

I’ve had more intelligent conversations with lobotomised amoebas.

Like the first AMASS version, I think a little time to gets use to it is in order. I like the fact it's more streamlined. I'm hoping the part that makes easier to subscribe to threads is implemented.

edit

it appears one still has to go back up tp the top a hit the follow thread button it you post without quoting:cry:
Maybe I'm missing something. Having the "follow thread" button would be nice.

I like the new look. And it's much more 'user friendly' for me. Thank you Pekka. Keep up the good work.

Please see the changelog:
https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1416019

Go to https://photography-on-the.net …php?show=threads_followed and scroll down, there you have the automatic follow settings.

PS. After you change those settings they "activate" only on next page reload.

Interesting... the difference in perception.

To me, the 1.1 update made things MUCH easier to manage.

Agreed. And the forum controls don't take up as much space which I prefer...

We can thank all the crybaby complainypants who made undeservingly critical thread after thread, posted nothing but negativity in every thread about Amass they could find, making poll after poll asking if they perferred the old version/whether user ship is down after the change/how many sections they have blocked, poking holes everywhere they could, tearing apart new features of the site and liking every post where someone else made a complaint that echoed their same negative close-minded inability to give it chance and adapt so that they wouldn't be seen openly as one of the complainypants but still lending weight to those never ending complaints by the small the loud and the few. They whined and b****** and cried from the entirety of their keyboards every single day since the change at every single chance they had making POTN's wonderful creator go out of his way to go back on changes that separated this forum from the rest, changes that took a lot of thought, creativity and hard work and forced him to bend over backwards for the small insignificant few however loud and vocal, to get what they want. They won and got what they complained for.

I like it much better. Not everyone will. I'm just glad that I had not accidentlly changed some setting making everything look different, which is what I first thought.

When my daughter was young and would diss her diaper, we called her PoopyPants. Perhaps ComplainyPants and PoopyPants are related.

Why are Stickies forced on again now?
I really liked having the option to turn those off, particularly since this site seems to over-use them.

This is just like anything else. In a while it will become second nature. A little patience goes a long way.
