Have you used the 7DII in any venues with more challenging lighting? If you have, I am curious how the focus performs and how high you had to go with ISO to get good action shots with acceptable noise. I have noticed that with the excellent home court lighting you are getting good low noise shots at ISO 6400; the sharpness and quality are always so good. Would you be willing share any tips as to how you are post processing and what software you use? I've only shot basketball in this one location since I've bought my 7DII. But I did shoot some football games that were pretty dark in the endzone areas. The shot below is at ISO 12,800 at the first football game that I used my 7DII. ![]() I just run the photos through LR 5.7. I do the noise reduction and sharpening usually last. I leave the color noise slider at the default 25. The luminosity slide I set from anywhere 0-50 depending on the ISO of the photo and the amount of noise. I enlarge the photo to 1:1 to watch the noise when moving the slider. I then click off of 1:1 and then sharpen the photo to about 70-80 but use the mask to sharpen only the edges. I hold the alt key (on a PC) when moving the masking slider until I get just the edges I want to show. That way you just sharpen the edges and don't sharpen the background and shadow areas and bring back some noise there. Nothing fancy. I am definitely no expert when it comes to post processing and noise reduction. Your skills/technique are to be admired and although you do not claim to be an expert in post processing, you are doing it well. Your basketball photos are encouraging me to purchase a 7DII for shooting my grand kids indoor sports. Jan 25, 2015 18:18 | #68 Finally got my hands on a 7DII. Overall, I was impressed. I had a 70-200 on the 7DII and a 24-70 on a 1DX, which worked out decently. I may try the 24-70 on the 7DII and a 300 or 200-400 on the 1DX next time. Andrew

Haha absolutely - Not a game goes by that we don't get coaches photos. Also - I like #3 - I've been wanting to try some panning for awhile but always thought the baseline would be a poor angle, you may have just changed my mind.
