Well I sold my D90 last night, so I am either A) going to hold out til my D300 sells as well, and buy a D7100 to replace both, or B) keep the 300 and get a D7000 to accompany it... Decisions decisions.

Nikon D300 / Nikon D70 / Nikon 18-70 3.5-4.5 / Nikon 35mm f1.8G / Nikon 50mm f1.8G / Nikon 70-210 f4 AF / Yongnuo 468ii
Previously had Canon 5dc / Canon 40d / Canon 60d / Canon 7d

D7200 seems to be around the corner. That should affect D7100 prices.

Was just getting setup at Founders Plaza yesterday when the Emirates A380 lifted off. Had to fire from the hip with way to much lens for this beast.

I finally git the chance to get outside (back garden) with my new combo today, was i excited (understatement) i was shooting any bird life i saw - in trees or bif, and my normal love - planes, the camera accounted for itself impeccably, the focus was instantaneous and reliable, as long as i gave it enough shutter speed 6-800th/sec, the shutter in the camera is a delight i was finding that there is no judder or vibration and could hold focus after pressing the shutter on what ever i was following, the shutter is also very quiet and just made a single click noise and not the clink clonk of my d90 i had.
I am processing my Nefs as i write and will post some pics when i have done a few.

To sum up - i am delighted with my d7100 and 70-300vr:-D:-D:-D

It's a rarity that snow falls here in middle TN. So I got out early to take some photos. D7000 with 35mm & a Bower flash set at 45 degree tilt

Playing around with D7000 & Nikon 50mm 1.8/D, trying to capture a couple of my black tail sharks in the aquarium. Tank lighting only. I discovered that I need to wipe down the tank better after taking the shots.
