well, in the FML category... i think someone lifted my 135 today. had it in a locker this morning. no see it now.

that hurts.

I feel your pain. A couple years ago somebody broke into my garage and stole over $7000 worth of tools. I was literally sick to my stomach for days.

I couple hundred bucks per year can buy you insurance for all your gear. Might be worth looking into. Just be thankful you didn't lose everything.

my travel insurance might actually cover it. don't have this gear listed on my home insurance (should have learned the lesson from my last trip as the insurance i had paid off when my gear took a ride down a river in a dry bag with a rip in it).

not the end of the world. stuff can be replaced. plus, this is just one less thing keeping me tied to my dslr :-|

Love your pictures. When you light your subject are you just using a bare strobe with reflector with cap or a speedlight from a distance? Or are you shooting on a tripod and taking a picture of the scene with no strobe and softbox and then another with the strobe and softbox in the frame and removing it in post? Fantastic pictures! I have been following you a flickr for quite a while and I love you style and the look you achieve. I'm just trying to improve my OCF and love to learn new techiniques if you would be willing to share.

Thanks

In the past he's mentioned that he uses bare speedlites on HSS.

That is correct, bare flashes on HSS, when I shoot day time I look for a shade to place the model, during the golden hour I'd use the sun light but still use a ill flash most of time. If it's night I'd use umbrellas to soften the light, that is all I use :)
