Anything I could do better? Lighting, post processing?

The images are done with 35mm on FF, due to a small livingroom. Flash on full power through an umbrella.

1/200, f/5, iso 160
I have replaced the red'ish background (see the next image), do you see anything I've missed? Its my first time trying. Not sure about the nose, I was zoomed all the way in, but still looks a little fake....

Too much empty spaces.
Crop tighter.
Use smaller F for more DOF.

I love the first pic! I think the spacing in the first one is just right! i think maybe if he was sitting down (just a face and shoulder shot) you wouldn't notice the the rest of his body awkwardly sticking out to the left and under his mouth. Your favorite dog food brand to the left would fit just right for a perfect advertisement type photo.

First and last .... Nothin' wrong with 'em. White space (black) is a matter of taste.

Oh man....yup that's the one! slap a logo (pedigree, aims, blue, etc) to the top right and call it a day. Again, great shot!
