I just wondered what the diameter of the Gitzo systematic base is. I know there are two dimensions and the Gitzo makes adapter from 234 series to 5 series.

Is there any chance I am able to put a Gitzo systematic levelling base to my Feisol 3442 tripod? Or even make an adapter?. The diameter on Feisol seems to be 65mm.

Sorry I don't think this idea would be viable. The Gitzo 3 series top plates are 70mm in diameter, I am not certain about the 5 series. However they lock in different ways. Feisol use 3 grub screws that engage on a groove on the top plate, whereas Gitzo use the clamping action of the tripod spider. It is probably not practical.
Have you had a look at these?

I agree with John it's unlikely you can use a Gitzo systematic base with Feisol legs. You'd need the joint at the top of the legs to be a perfect fit with the lugs on the Gitzo base just to screw the legs on securely never mind all the other issues.

Benro make Gitzo copies and some of the parts are interchangeable but not all. I wouldn't try to match Benro legs with a Gitzo base though, even though they use the same size screws.
