New 7D M II vs Used 1D M IV

Shortly after the 7D2 release the used 1D4 prices dropped a bit, then they started rising again. Floating around the £1300-£2000 mark. Still pretty high for it. The 7D2 is about £1599 new but I still can't decide.

My 1DIV comes today. Hopefully it'll be worth all the hunting around for one.

Still not sure which camera I would keep. Here's why.
I had a lot of out of focus shots with the 7Dmk2. That may have happened because I didn't have the best settings dialed in. ( got the camera and half time and returned it at games end )
The other possible reason for the missed focus is that I was using Version 1 of the Canon 400 f2.8. I saw a chart which I haven't been able to find again that said the all of the camera's latest
and greatest auto focus don't work with the lens. ( which is almost 20 years old ).

If the camera auto focused better, I might be inclined to go with the 7Dmk2. Something else I have noticed, is that at least my copy of the 1Dmk4 seems to have lower ISO values when
compared to the 5Dmk3 and 7dmk2.

I am planning on upgrading to the Version 1 of the IS 400 f2.8. It will be interesting to see if that lens works better with the new 7D.

Having shot with both 1DkIV and 7D2 I would also say better auto focus in 7D2.

Owned a 7D2 for 10 days before returning it for a full refund, and then bought a used 1DIV for the same price, with 17k on the shutter. The AF was superior, and it went well with my 5D3 - but apart from that, it didn't cut the mustard for me.

Have shot heaps of times with my IV (paid sports, one wedding & business portraits) and have not even given my decision a 2nd thought. Just wanted to chime in on my experience.
