Its sold as a 52" case and just fit across the back seat of my grand Prix on a slight angle. Its big but super sturdy and fairly light for its size. Thanks! I'll give it a search.

It's a 15 ft (3 pole) rig that threads together. It comes with everything you need to get started. I am very happy with the quality of the parts. It's all very sturdy and well thought out. The poles are roughed up to provide extra grip. The parts all go together easily once you figure out what goes where. I decided to go out into the cold weather (it was around 10°F) and try to take some shots in a parking ramp close to my house. Despite the cold, everything worked perfectly. No issues at all and everything went as easily as could be expected. I went for a low 3/4 angle and used the corner of the windshield and the corner of the hood for mounting. These are both fairly sturdy points. That gave me 10ft of pole hanging off the car, which was plenty with a 17mm lens on full frame. I used a CPL and played around with the settings a bit. The parking ramp has LED lighting and it's decent for the middle of the night, but not very bright compared to daytime (or even golden hour). Getting slow shutter speeds was not an issue. I brought my old 5D Classic just in case something happened it wouldn't be a more expensive body getting damaged (this was not an issue thankfully). I had no issues getting sharp shots. I tried shutter speeds from 2 to 10 seconds. 4-5 seconds seemed to work best. Here are the settings for the shot below: Camera: Canon 5D Classic Lens: Canon 17-40mm f/4 ISO Speed: 100 Focal Length: 19mm Aperture: f/6.3 Exposure: 5 sec. Polarizer: Yes And here's the final product after a bit of tweaking: For a first try, I am very happy with how it turned out. Next time I'll use the 5D3 so I have some more resolution to work with in post processing. The rig kit worked great. Everything worked flawlessly. Next I need to experiment with some more mounting positions/angles and get shots of some better cars! |Ben Johnson Photography
