As of now I have treasure island and twin peaks? Not sure if those are any good. I'm going on a family trip for the weekend in a couple of weeks. Any input is welcome. Thanks.

It depends on your interests. The standard big touristy landscapes--Golden Gate Bridge and so forth--are easily identified from a Google image search. For smaller scenes of local color, there are Mission Dolores and its cemetery, the piers on the Embarcadero, street scenes in North Beach, Diego Rivera's murals (external link), the area around the Cliff House and the ruins of Sutro Baths--really, too many places to mention all.

One could shoot in the immediate San Francisco area for years and not run out of interesting subjects to photograph. And you can shoot every genre of photography too, so it very much depends on your personal interest. Here are some links with good reading that you may find helpful:

To answer your original question, yes - TI and Twin Peaks are very nice shots.

The Golden Gate Bridge from Fort Point is a standard, too. But try the bridge from the Presidio, southwest of the bridge on Lincoln Blvd. or from the Marin County headlands just to the north of the bridge on Conzelman Road.

...or make friends with 2-3 other tourists and walk as a tight knit group thru the area to your destination

SF police crime maps for last 3 months, with in incidence of robbery (blue), /theft/burglary (grey), and assault (red dots).

"Tenderloin Station
A triangular area bordered by Geary, Market and Larkin streets, the Tenderloin Police District is the smallest of ten district station areas. The Tenderloin Task Force was created on April 1st 1991 (with the first bicycle patrol in the city) to combat the high level of crime in that area and made its headquarters in the basement of the historic Hibernia Bank building. A new headquarters, now formally known as Tenderloin Station, opened in October 2000 at 301 Eddy Street.
The officers of Tenderloin Station patrol an area with the highest concentration of parolees in the city, but the area has also become a place of residence for many law-abiding immigrant families, especially from southeast Asia. The officers' role, then, has been to make this area safe with its expanding businesses and eateries which cater to those families."

You are actually at greater risk of theft/larceny around Union Square, than within the Tenderloin! More tourists, more natives shopping in the stores around Union Sq. area.

Get over to the Marin Headlands, on the north side of the Golden Gate. Excellent vistas from there...

Just shut up and smile...

The Bay Bridge looks incredibly cool in pictures when it's lit up at night. The view is great from TI as well.
