I just visited the CPS site to register my new 70D, only to discover that it's NOT eligible for inclusion for the CPS service program. I've been a Gold Member for years, and figured that the $100/year fee was a good deal for a general inspect/service for my bodies each year.

WTF? The 50D and the 60D is included, why not the 70D?

I asked about it, and was told that it was a business decision from Canon Corporate. I'd be interested in the logic there...do they think that the 70D is going to need more attention than the 50D and 60D?

I was also told that I could register the 70D for service, but see no protocol on the page where my gear is listed to do that.

Annoying, and makes me wonder if I should just roll the dice and cancel my membership.

Regards!

Why do you think the 70D is not on the list? I see it both on the Gold Repair List and the Gold Maintenance Eligibility list.

The 7D is there, but not the 70D, at least not visible on the lists I saw. I'll look again...

Hmmmm.....I'll look again!

Thanks.

JUST tried again. On the third refresh, the 70D showed up. Dunno if it's my computer, or what, but it finally appeared. The 70D doesn't get any "points", though...

Thanks for setting me straignt, MHJ202 aqnd PCCousin

Regards!
Don
