Hi all, I was hoping I could get some advice. I'm looking for a second body to pair with my 5d2.

I shoot various subjects but mostly portraits both family and studio, cosplay events and conventions, street and cars. I eventually wouldn't mind trying faster subjects like track days, karting and possibly birds.

I don't find the 5d2 lacking in any way so far but wouldn't mind getting another body to add to my set up. What I'm stuck on is to what way to go;

CROP camera to get a different FOV from my current lenses and faster fps, different AF setups. I've had in the past 10d,30d,40d,50d and 7d (I had serious GAS back then) the 40 and the 50d were my favourites, I don't think I gave the 7d a proper chance.

Or FF camera so I can dual wield two prime focal lengths quickly while at an event.

Budget is an issue at the moment (around £300) so that cuts out a few choices like another 5d2. So possible picks are down to a 50D, 5D classic or save a little extra and longer for a 7d?

I've also had an eos M2 but I prefer the bodies of the other.

With such limited budget, the 50D is one-way in my opinion.You get MFA and a better frame rate than my 60D with a small penalty on higher ISOs. The 5D will not get you either reach or a better AF or MFA IIR.

Good luck!

Heya,

At that budget, maybe:

5D classic (classic...)
1Ds (full frame) (giving different AF options that you're not accustomed to having, while keeping full frame, on a budget)

Very best,
