This!
Perhaps a higher than 1/250s minimal shutter speed in Av mode with Auto Iso?
This is what I want too. Guess I'll let it pass then!

My old clone batteries still works. The battery indicator shows the icon, but it no longer indicates how much energy is remaining. 5Diii | 50D | 8-15L 4| 16-35L 2.8 II| 24-70L 2.8 II | 70-200L 2.8 IS II |Tamy 150-600 | Σ35Art 1.4 | 40 2.8 | Σ50Art 1.4 | 85L 1.2 II | 100 2.8 Macro | Helios 44-3 58mm f2.0 |Helios 40-1 85mm f1.5 | 1.4x & 2x teleconverters

Try Partial metering instead of Evaluative in camera, that seems to have fixed my underexposing issue. I also changed ETTL metering to Average which also made a huge difference in my flash exposures. 5D3 | Sigma 30mm f/1.4 HSM | EF 85mm f/1.8 USM | EF 24-70 f/2.8L II | EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS II | 430EX | YN-568EX II | YN-622c | YN-622-TX |

I have the exposure compensation set to +2/3 most of the time. I always ETTR ( circa .25 of a stop ) so no problem here , if that is the case.
