I agree on the impossible part, There is only speculation on why as we all know nothing of the circumstances of the events that have lead to this event.

In all seriousness for just one moment, NEVER run from a bear. Quickest way to get attacked.

I am a fairly sedentary wildlife photographer, mostly shooting the things that live in my urban area. Once in a while I do take trips for the purpose of wilder life photos. Here in Florida, our most dangerous animals tend to leave humans alone--although in recent years alligators and black bears have become more used to humans and endanger themselves because of it. I have not seen a bear here, although one came within 9 blocks before capture a couple of years back. The Port Orange library patrons were being attacked so often by a pair of hawks guarding their nest last year that people were told to use umbrellas between their cars and the library entrance.
So, here is a dangerous bird.

Went to India last January and after several days of riding around in jouncy jeeps, got two tiger shots. Both of them unexciting as the Tigers were full and lazy. The one laying down is a maneater but was so full of something other than a man he could barely lift his head. The second tiger, also relaxing after a good meal was in a shaded area and more alert.

I've had this happen before when the site wouldn't upload the second photo, even though it says it has. My slightly more alert tiger. The most dangerous things in India, by effect on feranghi (foreigners), are little bitty bugs. I've been there as a Peace Corps Volunteer years ago and it tried to kill me a couple of times. Went in 2011 and it tried to kill me with dysentery. Went last year and almost died with clots in my lungs. But I enjoyed the visit every time--can't hold India's murderous intentions against her.
