Great shots all. I never get tried of shooting or looking at pics of eagles.

+1 - never get tired of great shots of a magnificent creature such as the bald eagle!

ok gang... I will be there a week from today... how are we looking? I am really hoping its not a bust...

If you were to do a site count of lenses at L&D 14 what is the most common lens....I'm guessing it's 500 or 600mm

I was there yesterday for about an hour an the action was limited. The eagles are still there. Just hope that it stays cold.

Plenty of big lenses on anchors there. I personally don't like being tied down to one spot. When a lot of people show up a common handheld lens is the Tamron 150-600.

Spent the afternoon today at the dam. Not much activity until mid afternoon, but then there was plenty going on.

Awesome shots think me and my wife are going there in two weeks hope for anything that good- great shots!!!!!!!!

I was there today and it hit 40 degrees. The eagles were barely active. People there were saying last Thursday was one of the better days of the year. I remember it being 15 degrees and sunny that day.

Impressive imagery. We chose owls in Quebec this winter but next winter I'm all over L&D 14
Will 400mm + 1.4 TC be enough?

yes. if you are using a full frame, you might be cropping more than you would like. but on a crop, a 400+1.4 would be very beneficial. I shot mine with a 300+1.4 and a 1.3 crop body. minimal cropping on most
