Kingbird. Tammy on a 5DIII. I try to avoid 600mm if possible; 552mm is about as long as I like to go. More reach and less cropping on my 40D might have worked, but it was a pretty gloomy day, and I had to use higher ISO's.

A very dark sky with quite a hailstorm, but the sun was still out behind me, so the swan stood out beautifully. I was inside the car, fortunately, and could keep the window open just long enough to take this picture. Added some contrast to make the sky even a little darker than it was.

These aren't the best shots I've gotten with this lens, but I haven't posted in quite a while, do I decided it was time.

There are many species of ducks that migrate to Western New York each winter. It's a great time to (try to) learn the unique issues and quirks of this lens. A lot of Eagle activity recently, but it seems that I miss them each week. But the Redheads, Canvasbacks, Mergansers, and Scaup are fun to spend time with.

Another eagle from my previous trip. Hoping to get out later this week to get some new shots. In the original image, I slightly clipped the wing, so I figured I'd do a tighter crop...I think it works.

While all of the shots on here are very good, and helpful, YOURS is ART! The hail makes it appear dream-like, and you just don't, (or I don't) get to see a swan flying every day, making it seem mystical.
